Claude Motion
Turn reports and charts into editable animations. Everything announced so far — sorted and sourced.
- 01
What Claude Motion does
Claude Motion turns material you already have — a quarterly report, a chart, a set of product screenshots — into a short animated explainer. You describe what you want in plain language, attach your files, and Claude builds a piece that plays like a video. When it looks right, you export it as an MP4 and drop it into a deck, a website or a social post.
- 02
Why “built as code” matters
Instead of asking a video model to imagine frames, Claude writes code that lays out and animates your text, charts, shapes and images. That is why a single number or headline can be changed without regenerating the whole piece, and why your data stays exactly as you supplied it. The trade-off is scope: no realistic footage and no AI-generated people.
- 03
Where it fits in Claude
Claude Motion is one of several artifact types in Claude, next to Docs, Slides, Design and the new Dashboards. Every animation is saved in your Artifacts tab, so you can come back, adjust it and export again. It launched as a beta on October 8, 2026, and is currently limited to Team and Enterprise plans.
How it works
Prompt in. Code under the hood. MP4 out.
- 01Promptplus your data & images
- 02CodeClaude animates it
- 03MP4export & share
01 · Brief
Write one or two sentences about the audience, where the video will play and roughly how long it should be. Attach the report, spreadsheet or images you want animated so Claude works from real content.
02 · Build
Claude writes the animation as code: titles fade in, bars grow, numbers count up, screenshots slide into place. The result appears in an editor where it plays back like a short video.
03 · Refine & export
Ask for changes in plain language — slow a scene, swap a color, fix a figure — or edit the code yourself. Export as MP4 when you are happy, or continue in a tool such as Runway.
No video model — so every word, number and timing stays editable.
No realistic footage or people.
OfficialClaude Help Center ↗Who it’s for
Built for people who explain things.
- 01
Marketing
Launch announcements, feature highlights and short social clips that animate your own copy and brand colors, ready in minutes instead of waiting for a motion designer.
- 02
Sales
Animated pricing comparisons and product walkthroughs for decks and follow-up emails, with regional variants made by changing a few words rather than rebuilding the video.
- 03
Finance & analytics
Board-ready chart reveals and quarterly recaps where every figure comes straight from your report — nothing invented, nothing rounded by a model.
- 04
Product
Release notes, onboarding sequences and feature explainers built from real screenshots, so new users see exactly what changed and where to click.
- 05
People & internal comms
All-hands updates, policy explainers and welcome videos that keep a calm, consistent style across every team and every month.
- 06
Founders & small teams
A Team plan gives a small company motion-graphics output without hiring a designer — useful for investor updates, demos and launch posts.
How to use
Brief it like a director.
Say who it’s for, where it plays and how long. Attach your content.
Step-by-step tutorial→Turn the attached Q3 report into a 30-second explainer for our all-hands.
Use cases
Six things to make first.
- 130-second all-hands recapAttach the quarterly report and ask for the three headline numbers to count up, followed by next quarter’s goal. Calm pacing works best for internal audiences.
- 2Board chart revealGive Claude a single chart and ask for bars to grow one by one, with the final value highlighted. Keep it under ten seconds so it fits inside a slide.
- 3Pricing comparisonShow each plan as a column and reveal features row by row, ending on the recommended plan. Ideal for a pricing page or a sales follow-up.
- 4Onboarding walkthroughUse four or five screenshots, one step per scene, with short captions. New customers see the setup flow in under a minute.
- 5Monthly product updateOpen with shipped-feature counts, then list highlights with simple icons. Reuse the same brief every month and only swap the numbers.
- 6Social launch clipAnimate a headline stat and your logo in a square or vertical frame, then add music in a partner tool before posting.

FAQ
Quick answers.
The first things people ask.
Is Claude Motion free?
No. Claude Motion is a beta feature on Team and Enterprise plans only. There is no free tier and no add-on for individual plans yet; the smallest way in is a Team plan with at least two seats.
I’m on Max. Can I use it?
Not currently. Max gives one person higher usage limits, but Claude Motion is tied to Team and Enterprise workspaces. If you need it, a Team plan is the route.
How do I turn it on?
On Team plans it is on by default. On Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables it in Organization settings → Artifacts, and can limit it to specific groups with custom roles.
Can it make realistic video?
No. Claude Motion animates text, charts, shapes and images with code and does not use a video generation model. For live-action shots, export your animation to a tool such as Runway and add footage there.
Is Claude Motion made by Anthropic?
Yes. Anthropic launched it inside Claude on October 8, 2026, as a beta.
What kind of motion graphics can it make?
2D motion graphics: animated text, charts, shapes and images. Not 3D scenes or character animation.
How is it different from Claude Design and Claude Dashboards?
All three are artifact types in Claude. Design makes visual designs, Dashboards builds live data dashboards, Motion makes animations.
Can I use Claude Motion in Claude Code?
Nothing has been announced. Developers use community skills or Remotion in Claude Code instead — see our comparison.
